Deployable Air Base System Unit Type Codes

The Deployable Air Base System (DABS) Unit Type Codes (UTCs) are a cornerstone of the U.S. Air Force’s expeditionary logistics strategy, enabling rapid deployment and establishment of air operations in response to global and regional security challenges. Comprised of modular UTCs—including Security Forces Base Defense equipment, power generation, communications gear, and life support systems—DABS provides scalable capabilities that can be pre-positioned worldwide and mobilized to any location where air operations are required. Advanced Government Logistics (AGL) has successfully deployed over 500 UTCs in support of these efforts. As threats continue to evolve, particularly in the eastern European theater, DABS ensures the Air Force maintains strategic flexibility, operational readiness, and the ability to project power rapidly across the globe.
